Confessions of a Mad Mooer: Postnatal Depression Sucks is my memoir about my time in a psychiatric hospital with postnatal depression  (also known as postpartum depression).

Here’s the blurb:

What happens when a mother says she isn’t okay, but nobody’s listening?

That’s the situation Sydney mother, Robin, faced after the birth of her identical twin boys. She already had a needy toddler and a husband who worked long hours, but no matter where she turned, her desperate cries for help went unanswered. It wasn’t until her newborn twins ended up in hospital with bronchiolitis that the medical staff realised it was Robin who needed the most care.

The hospital diagnosed her with postnatal depression, or postpartum depression as it is known in the US, and sent her and the boys to a psychiatric hospital. Inside the Psychiatric Mothers and Baby unit Robin finally found her confidence, not only as a parent, but also as a writer and a worthy person in her own right. Her periods returned, too, but she didn’t consider that as much of a blessing.

Confessions of a Mad Mooer is her story, told with warmth, humour, and unflinching honesty. A must read for anyone who has been touched by postnatal or postpartum depression, and a fascinating read for any creative or performing artists who have ever struggled with their own mental health.

The What Happens in Book Club… serial published through Spice Ebooks is split into 5 one hour installments. It’s sexy, it’s cheeky, and it has books and wine. What more could you want? The first 3 parts are available in e-format. Part 1 is always free.
What Happens in Book Club…: Episode 1 (It’s Not Me; It’s You)

WHIBCE1Your book club reads books? That’s adorable, Gwyn’s book club drinks wine and rates the hunks from classic literature. Sure they were once a regular book club, full of feisty discussions about Proust, but that all changes after the most awkward book club meeting of their lives. When schoolteacher Gwyn’s generally conservative book club covers a popular novel of a more suggestive nature, Gwyn can’t help but think of all the literary hunks in a suggestive fashion.

Enjoy the delicious sunny Australian setting as Sydney schoolteacher Gwyn learns all about lust, love, friendship and herself. And always remember, what happens in book club, stays in book club.

Get it FREE here: iTunes / Kobo / Scribd. / Inktera / Oyster / GooglePlay / Barnes&Noble

Also available on Amazon

I will provide more links as they come available.

What Happens in Book Club…: Episode 2 (I’m Just Not That Into You)

WHIBCE2Following on from a disastrous encounter with a gassy Mr Bingley and a damp Mr Rochester, schoolteacher Gwyn just doesn’t seem to be able to keep herself out of trouble. Her mind is full of career ambitions but also of literary super hunks, especially a certain silver fox. What part of her brain will win?

And what’s even better, her best pal Maureen is back in town. Maureen is always a sure fire way to kick both fun and trouble up a notch. How will Gwyn’s steadfast friends, Mac and Selene, cope with the competition?

Enjoy the second part of Gwyn’s adventures where you get to find out if she encounters her knight in ‘silver’ armour again and if Shelley gives her more love than Austen. And don’t forget, what happens in book club, stays in book club.

Get it on: AmazonKobo / Scribd. / Inktera / Oyster / GooglePlay / Barnes&Noble / iTunes for $1.99 USD

Episode 3 (It’s Complicated) is currently only available via Amazon, but will go wide in three months.

Have you ever had a workplace romance go bad? Gwyn has. It went so wrong that she’s now up on a trumped up sexual harassment suit and everybody at work is talking about it. What else could go wrong, and how can it all turn around and start going right? Find out how Gwyn’s wine-loving book club can come to the rescue and devastate her in equal measure.

And yes, we will all be hearing more about Selene’s little issue from E2. You know the one that I’m talking about.

Kick back and enjoy this distinctly Australian serial full of Ozzie terminology and humor.

Each episode in the “What Happens in Book Club…” serial should take about 1 hour to read.

Feel free to browse the rest of the site and enjoy the ramblings of a mad woman.

    • Hi. I am so sorry for the delay. I managed to do something quite catastrophic to my computer without quite realising how. It shall be released fairly soon. Shoot me an email at robin.elizabee@gmail.com so that I have your email address and remind can send you a free copy once it has been edited. (Unfortunately, being dyslexic means I can’t cut corners and save time ever in the process and need to get at least two done, sorry.) Sorry for the long delay. Hopefully the last three should be out in fairly quick succession.
